Star Magic
Explore the wisdom of the constellations
This book is being released in two editions: A special limited-edition hardcover and unlimited paperback.
We are drawn by the glamour of the moon as we celebrate its shining fulness with our esbats. And although we may follow the turning wheel of the zodiac, how many of us can pick out constellations in the night sky?
This revised and updated edition of Star Magic explores the night sky and show you when and what to look for. It examines the mythology of the constellations and provides a new interpretation that is relevant to Pagan ritual and magic. This book includes the basics on working with energy and how to engage star energy.
Because the wheel of the year turns the earth and heavens, the book is organized according to season. Each chapter provides details on where to locate constellations and what you can expect to see. Also included is the history associated with each constellation, particulars on their notable stars, and a modern interpretation for use in magic, ritual, divination, astral travel, and other practices.
Pagans may want to take a closer look at the constellation for simple fact that our basic and most recognizable symbol, the pentagram, is a star. Also, the widely used Charge of the Goddess begins: “Hear ye the words of the Star Goddess, she is the dust of whose feet are the hosts of heaven, and whose body encircles the universe.” It seems as though we reach for the stars, but we don’t work with their energy. Star Magic changes that by bringing the power of the constellations into your hands.
